West Shore Chamber of Commerce Awards
George C. Hoopy Award

One of the Chamber’s most prestigious awards, this honor is named for Lemoyne businessman George C. Hoopy, a Chamber founding father
who passed away in 2007. This important award recognizes a member’s exemplary
service to the Chamber over the past year. William H. DeVore, Jr., Owner of
Franklin's Printing & Mailing, accepted the Award at the
West Shore Chamber's 2007 Annual Meeting and Luncheon from outgoing Chairman of
the Board of Directors, Kerwin Stetler.

Les Ginanni Business & Community Connection Award
The recipient of the Les Ginanni Business and Community Connection Award is the West Shore Chamber member who has continuously contributed to the community through his or her organization
as well as on a personal level. First presented to Mr. Les Ginanni
in 1997, the award was named in his honor as a tribute to his exemplary
community service throughout central Pennsylvania. Leighann Moll and
Joseph Maurer CEO, of Mementum Fitness are the 2007 award recipients.
Inspiring Business Award
The Inspiring Business Award is given to the Chamber member who actively
encourages and perpetuates business innovation, freely shares ideas and opinions
regarding business issues and is a catalyst for the future of business.
Award winners are nominated by Chamber members and evaluated by a selection
committee in November. The 2007 Inspiring Business Award winner is
Rhonda Hebbard, owner, Luxor Events & Marketing.
Business Achievement Award
This award, established in 1990 and presented in
conjunction with Commerce Bank, is given to an individual or
individuals who, through creativity, perseverance, and education has:
developed a successful enterprise; whose efforts has created jobs,
products, and opportunities; whose high moral and ethical values has
set a standard of excellence in the marketplace; and whose dynamic
leadership has thrust central Pennsylvania into economic prominence.
In addition, the winner(s) has the following qualities:
- Respect of the community.
- A commitment to local organizations.
- Has built and created local, regional, and statewide jobs, and often across the U.S. and internationally.
- Respect for his/her employees.
Mary Sammons, President & CEO of Rite Aid Corporation,
accepted the award at the West Shore Chamber's 2007 Business Achievement Award
Luncheon.
